Forest Bathing Session with Gina Ruiz
Location
Saturday, September 30, 2023 | 7:30 – 8:15 a.m., 8:45 – 9:30 a.m., or 10 – 10:45 a.m.
Join Forest Bathing and Wellness for a mini-session of guided forest bathing among the beautiful San Antonio Botanical Garden. This session will be led by founder Gina Ruiz, a certified forest therapy guide.
Forest Bathing is based on a Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku that involves connecting with nature by “bathing in the forest atmosphere.” Studies show time in nature lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity, and reduces stress. In this activity, you will indulge with fellow nature appreciators in relaxing meditation and forest therapy in a guided outdoor immersion.
Plan to see some of the most natural settings of the Garden while learning activities that allow you to better connect with nature through mindfulness. Leave feeling centered, connected, and more at peace. Attendees must be 10 years or older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

About the Instructor: Gina Ruiz founded Forest Bathing and Wellness to share her passion for nature connection with the Texas Hill Country. She offers guided forest bathing for groups, private sessions, and couples’ experiences. She believes the urban areas she serves would benefit from slowing down and connecting with the calming and health-giving benefits of forest bathing. She has spent her life traveling all over the world, immersing in the beauty of the outdoors, studying nature, and guiding in the Alaskan rainforest. She has a background in special education, entrepreneurship, physics, and psychology. She is a certified forest therapy guide through ANFT and a life coach.
