Gardening Begins with the Soil – SOLD OUT
Location
Wednesday, January 12 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
All gardening begins with the soil: understanding the soil you’re working with, how to amend it, and then how to protect it. Bexar County has four significantly different soils; from beach sand to a thick “gumbo” clay soil, and these soils can be amended in a way that maximizes water usage while minimizing fertilizer and pesticide usage. Join Bexar County Master Gardeners as they explore these soils, various soil amendments, and ways to keep a stable environment in the soil. Master Gardeners will be available at the end of the workshop to answer your gardening questions. Sponsored by San Antonio Water System.
Fee: Free. Registration deadline is January 11 at 10 a.m.
Instructors: Bill Swantner, Bexar County Master Gardener
