Spend an unforgettable evening exploring the strange and spectacular world of carnivorous plants! From an engaging lecture by a renowned botanist, and a cult classic movie under the stars, this event offers something for plant lovers, science enthusiasts, and movie buffs. A themed cocktail will be available for purchase.

Take a tour of Florida’s carnivorous plants! The Florida Panhandle is a hotspot for carnivorous plants in North America, with the largest number of species and the highest density of individuals. Learn about their habitat, the variety of forms they take, and the methods of predation these plants have evolved.
About the speaker: Lilly Anderson-Messec is a botanist and ecologist currently serving as the Director of North Florida Programs and TorreyaKeepers Project Manager for the Florida Native Plant Society. She lives and works in the Florida Panhandle.
