Workshop Series: Texas Flora by Ecoregion
Location
Flora of Tamaulipian Thorn Scrub/South Texas
Saturday, April 20, 2024 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Curious what makes the Edwards Plateau unique? Or where does the Chihuahuan Desert end and the Edwards Plateau begin? What plants are found on the South Texas Sand Sheet? Join Michael Eason, Associate Director of Conservation and Collections for this series of workshops about the flora of Texas by ecoregion. Throughout the series guests will learn about four different ecoregions: Edwards Plateau, Blackland Prairie, Tamaulipian Thorn Scrub/South Texas, and Chihuahuan Desert. Each workshop will cover the intriguing common and rare native and adapted plants of the region. Come ready to learn curious tidbits on pollination biology, etymology, seed dispersal, and the biogeography of the plants of each ecoregion. Light snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.
Fee: $20 per workshop ($15 member per workshop). Registration ends when class is filled.
