Cocktail Scavenger Hunt: Stone Fruit and Sangria

Hunt, snap, sip! Challenge yourself and your companions to a Cocktail Scavenger Hunt. Find and photograph ingredients growing in the Garden with an educational map and then present them to the culinary team in exchange for a refreshing spritzer-based cocktail, and paired tasting menu. This event is open to ages 21+.

The Blue Zone: Long Life Cuisine (Loma Linda, California)

Loma Linda, California: Celebrate the bounty of grains, fruits, nuts, legumes, and fresh veggies, in a uniquely Californian culinary tradition. Vegan cuisine at its best!

People in some areas of the world are known for living a long and healthy life, to a large degree from their local diets. We explore these places’ cuisines, and celebrate delicious, healthy recipes through multi-course demonstration and tasting. And we’ll harvest from our own garden, as well!

Plant-Forward Cooking: Basil, Basil, Basil!

Basil is in season, and we’ve planted six unique cultivars with their own aromas and flavors! We’ve put together an educational talk on how to grow this wonder-herb at home, a chef demo featuring our cultivars, followed by a delicious multi-course tasting. Vegan and Vegetarian cuisine continues to grow quickly in popularity in San Antonio, and there’s a good reason why – it’s delicious! Come to the Garden for a green culinary experience, focusing on localism and seasonality, and well as exotic colors, textures, and amazing flavors.

Spring Jelly Making with Texas Natives- SOLD OUT

Springtime produces some distinctive native Texas fruits and berries. Join Paul Gates in this delicious workshop and learn which Texas natives produce spring fruit, when it can be harvested, and how to turn that fruit into unique jellies. Paul will demonstrate his jelly making technique and each participant will take home a jar of jelly and a booklet of recipes.
