Ethnobotany of Native Plants
For thousands of years Texas plants have been used for sustenance, medicine, and the establishment of the area. As the region and its populations changed, so did the ethnobotany (relationship between people and plants). Learn about ethnobotany, what it is, and the unique history of the plants in this area.
Seasonal WaterSaver Landscaping
Want to learn to keep your landscape looking great during the different seasons? This presentation is designed to teach residents of San Antonio how to create beautiful landscapes that last all year long that do not require a lot of water.
Plants for Central Texas Gardens
Explore native plants that are well adapted to the Central Texas climate and serve a variety of landscape purposes from seasonal color to wildlife needs. Our presenters will introduce you to grasses, perennials, and trees that are our area’s botanical heroes.
The Botanical Garden’s education team is excited about sharing its mission and is dedicated to promoting water conservation through landscaping at community events, fairs, and showcases.
