Family Workshop: Japanese-Inspired Block Printing

Sunday, September 28, 2025 | 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Delve into the history of printmaking in this introductory linocut class! Participants will start with a short, educator-led tour of the authentic Japanese garden Kumamoto En. After, participants will learn how to safely carve relief prints inspired by the history of Japanese prints and the flora and fauna of Kumamoto En. Participants will take home the creations they make during class, including the block they carved. All other supplies to make prints will be provided and shared during the class. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Contact sdudley@sabot.org with questions.
Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Fee: $17 adult ($12 adult member); $13 child ($10 child member).
