Artist Talk: Rhys Munro

Join us for a creative evening with an artist-led exploration of a mural in the Reflections of Nature exhibition. During this outdoor talk, guests will learn about the artist’s creative approach, installation process, and about other works they have created. After the talk, guests will participate in a hands-on art activity inspired by the artist’s piece. The evening begins with a beverage from the Garden’s Shop, before setting off on this immersive, art-meets-nature experience.

Art Making: Lightwoven-inspired Suncatchers | 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

This session features Rhys Munro. Rhys is a Mexican American artist based in San Antonio, Texas. Her work explores identity, liminality, geometry, and architecture, creating a dialogue between structure and environment. She relies on composition, color, and light as dynamic elements rather than static forms, constructing rhythmic, immersive spaces that shift with time and perception. Her minimalist approach reflects a deep connection to cultural memory, with color acting as a bridge between history and experience, inviting reflection and discovery.
