National Public Gardens Day Celebration

The Garden welcomes the community to celebrate National Public Gardens Week with after-hours admission from 5pm-8:30pm. The evening is free and open to the public. Explore 38 acres of garden space, activities such as culinary demonstrations, guided walks, a Student Sustainability Showcase from 5pm-6:30pm, nature play activities, Santikos Art in the Garden by young emerging Mexican artist, Alejandro Martin, a.k.a. Otto, and a special opera performance of excerpts from the Magic Flute by University of the Incarnate Word music department at 5:30pm and 6:30pm.

National Public Gardens Day was created in 2009, with then partners Rain Bird, to drive local and national exposure to the importance of building vibrant, relevant gardens committed to community enrichment and environmental responsibility through community engagement, sustainable practices and conversation.
