Weaving Nature: Creating Wallhangings with Botanical Fibers

Discover the timeless art of weaving using natural fibers gathered from the San Antonio Botanical Garden. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn to create beautiful, textured wall hangings that reflect the organic beauty of nature. Each participant will be provided with a frame loom and guided through the process of designing and weaving their unique piece. From selecting and preparing botanical fibers to weaving and finishing techniques, this workshop is perfect for everyone.
There will be a break for lunch and participants are welcome bring their own lunch to eat in the Garden.
Fee: $65 ($60 members). Registration required.
Instructor: Doerte Weber is mostly a self-taught artist who weaves with diverse modern, quotidian materials. Her works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally and can be found in private as well as public collections.
