Community Access Coordinator

The Community Access Coordinator position at the Botanical Garden is responsible for furthering the Botanical Garden’s community access initiatives, specifically to coordinate Nature Navigator (Shuttle Access Program) and the Community Access Pass Program. The Community Access Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the Nature Navigator and Community Access Pass programs from building and maintaining relationships with community partners, scheduling groups, providing guests with an experience of their choosing, leading or coordinating educational experiences for groups, and evaluating the programs.

Education Assistant

Under the direct supervision of the San Antonio Botanical Garden Director of Family, Youth, and School Learning, the Education Assistant will offer educational programs and experiences that communicate the importance of plants and nature. This person will work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to facilitate current programming and develop interpretation materials. Duties include, but are not limited to interacting with guests, assisting with youth and family programs, facilitating drop-in activity stations for program events, gathering, and preparing materials for programs, and supporting related educational programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers must commit to 24 hours annually. Volunteers must attend volunteer orientation and any additional training needed for each program. Volunteer orientation is online. The cost of joining the volunteer program is a one-time fee of $30 background check. If this is cost prohibitive, please reach out to cblumenberg@sabot.org. Volunteers are required to be over 18.
