Children’s Vegetable Garden Orientation
Interested in learning more about growing vegetables, while helping to cultivate young gardeners? Come learn about one of the nation’s oldest youth gardening programs. All levels of experience and commitment are welcome to join the enthusiastic CGVP team. Volunteers do not need to be ‘expert gardeners’ but do need to love working outside and working with kids/families. Shifts for the CVGP occur Saturday mornings, 8 am to noon, from February 17th to June 2nd. All Garden volunteers working with the children are required to consent to a background check.
Saturday, February 3rd 10:30 a.m. to 12 pm in the Garden’s Discovery Classroom A. No preregistration required.
Adventure Guide Training
Do you enjoy sharing your enthusiasm for nature with children? Join us for our Family Adventure Garden Guide training. During this training you will learn about our new Family Adventure Garden, the importance of nature play, and how to promote unrestrictive and unstructured nature play. Shifts for the Adventure Guides will be on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the year from 9 am to 12 pm with special holiday and event afternoon shifts. All Garden volunteers working with the children are required to consent to a background check.
